Skate Will Not Be At EA Play Live 2021

However, it's not all bad news

On Twitter earlier today, publisher Electronic Arts announced the upcoming Skate game will not be shown during EA Play Live 2021 on July 22.

Work on Skate is still in the early stages of development, with the developers not “ready for prime time just yet.” That said, developer Full Circle promised a “little something” for tomorrow, July 19. This could mean a teaser trailer or even a name reveal.

Here’s the full statement:

What have we been up to? Well, we formed a studio back in January, got a bunch of super talented people to join the family, and we’ve been working hard on the new game. Now, we know many of you were hoping to see more from us this week but we’re not ready for prime time just yet and we won’t be part of the EA Play Live show on Thursday. It’s still early and we are committed to doing this thing right which means it’s gonna take some time.

Our number one goal is not to blow it. For you, for us…for Skate. However, we are stoked to share a little something with you all tomorrow.

EA announced the next Skate game in June 2020. Since then, the publisher established Full Circle in January to work on the game. Daniel McCulloch, who was the former head of Xbox Live, is now in charge of the studio. Deran Chung and Cuz Parry, who helped create the Skate series, also joined the studio and make up the creative leadership on the new Skate.
